Module-inhoud | The contribution of ethnobotany and ethnopharmacology to natural product discovery and their bioprospecting potential. Plant constituents as anticancer, antibacterial, antiviral, hypoglycaemic, free radical scavengers, hypotensive and as anti-inflammatory agents. Cell culturing, cell growth and apoptosis, cell mediated immune responses. Drug development in TB as models for research. Enzymes, receptors and the plant constituents that interact with them in therapeutic practice. Practical aspects related to the manufacture of good quality plant-based medicines, as well as drug formulation, standardisation and aspects concerning different dosage forms of plant-derived products. The unique challenges of plant-based medicines. |
